The gift of the year

So here is a funny story that explains the lengths that an auntie goes to! So back in November I got a text msg from my youngest nephew that showed what he wanted for Christmas

...a pretty simple request and it was from Target...Perfect, I will run over and grab it right?!? Well not so much, and here begins the saga...

I run to Target one day on my lunch to grab the Big Block Firetruck. Yes, now I have at least one of his gifts right....well they didnt have it. So I run to WalMart...they didn't have it either. They have the dump truck and something else, but no firetruck. Ok no biggie, they must be out, I will just keep checking, I have plenty of time! In the mean time, my sister-in-law is checking in Fargo...no luck! I am now calling Target every week to see if they have any, they tell me no, but that their trucks come in on Mon, Wed, Fri and every other Sat. So I am there every truck delivery to see if they have it...nope no luck! Now it is 2 weeks before Christmas...and I am getting a little nervous as I still don't have the truck in my little hands. He even told Santa that is all that he wanted! How could I not find this damn thing?!? We went to Fargo for Isaiah's b-day and on the way home we went to the Fargo, Moorhead, Alex, and FF Target and NO LUCK! It isn't like this is the hot toy of the season...how can I not find one anywhere?! So I go to Ebay...and they have them!!! YIPPEE !! I put in my order on the 16th of Dec, should be PLENTY of time to get it to me by the 23rd...well the idiot that I bought it from was in no big hurry to get it out so I left for Christmas with no fire truck. I failed...well it is on the way so he will get it for his b-day...which is the first part of Jan! Perfect right?! Well then I get a call and they tell me that Gabriel (who is 2 by the way) said that Santa didn't come because he didn't get his firetruck! Now my heart is broken....hopefully he will still be excited for it on his b-day! Here are some pictures of it....Finally I have it, hopefully he still wants it!

Winnie the Pooh

This past weekend Eric and I made the LONG trip up to Fargo. My mom is back for a month or so, by the way, she now lives in NC, so we went to Fargo to visit with my brother and sister-in-law and my beloved nephews. Isaiah's b-day was on the 14th and he is 7 already! I can't believe it! That also means that I have been back in MN/ND for 7 years...that doesn't seem possible either! Anyways, we also went to Fargo to take Gabriel to Winnie-the-Pooh...he won the experience as a reward! Lucky Duck! We got met up with my cousin Amy and her son Asher as well.

I couldn't believe how much the kids loved it! Um...well maybe Eric and I enjoyed it just as much? We are such suckers! We went down to the concession stand and brought back Winnie-the-pooh cups with snow cones for the boys, cotton candy, popcorn, a Tigger hat and then water bottles for Eric and I. We feel into the trap! We were told not to get anyone anything...well, how can you not, everything was so darn cute!

The weather caused us to cut our trip short, so that was a bummer! But we had a great time!

JD...our VERY spoiled puppy (well he is 3 but just a lil guy so I call him a puppy) says "Merry Christmas"

Well here we sit, 8 days before Christmas. Can you believe it? I don't know about you but it seems that time has gone so quickly! I thought that I had a good jump on the holidays...but apparently not. I still have shopping and wrapping to do! It feels like it never ends! Just when you think that you have it all done...boom, someone else comes up that you "forgot" to buy for or send a card to! I hope that everyone has safe travels this holiday season! I just have one question to ask...are you getting coal in your stocking? I am sure that I have been good! Just ask me and I will tell you!!!

I am going to do some "backwards posting" as time permits. I will post some picts, and give you a little history of us, but they are from awhile back...but I want to get them out there, now that I know what in the heck I am doing!

Finally

Well I have finally become a little more savy and I am going to start a family blog. You know we have such an interesting life that I figure I should share it with the world, well at least with the 5 people that may read this! I don't really have anything interesting right now, except that it is Friday and it is almost time to ring the bell! YIPPEE. Once I figure out how to put pictures on here, I will put some picts out so that you can keep an eye on us.
